What is refurbished?

iPhones & iPads Software Support

Apple provides system updates for a long time for their iPhones and iPads. On average they offer about 5 years of software updates. This means you can buy an older model and still benefit from the latest security and functionality updates. But even if you can no longer up date to the newest iOS version, you will still get security updates for a few more years.

The oldest iPhone model still currently supported is iPhone 8

The oldest iPad model still currently supported is iPad Mini 5/iPad 5/iPad Air 3

For an up to date list, you can always check here.

There is a new major iOS release once a year. This is also usually when they drop the oldest devices from their supported list. We do not sell iPhones/iPads that are no longer supported by Apple.
